Developing a reference testing facility for AI solutions in healthcare
The Testing and Experimentation Facility for Health AI and Robotics (TEF-Health) project aims to develop a reference testing and experimentation facility for AI and robotics based solutions in the healthcare sector.
The project has three objectives: to conduct tests and experiments in real or realistic environments, implement evaluation activities that facilitate market access for trustworthy intelligent technologies, and optimise investments by capitalising on past investments.
The project provides existing expertise and infrastructure for designing and implementing AI testing in real-world environments at TRL 6-8. EBRAINS leads Work Package 10: Business Development and Integration and contributes to Work Packages 1, 4, 6, and 10 by providing project coordination, virtual testing service, and innovation and business development services.
The consortium includes 51 partners from leading EU hospitals and medical universities, national metrology institutes, innovation clusters, and certification authorities.
TEF-Health aims to increase the effectiveness, resilience, and sustainability of EU health and care systems, reduce healthcare delivery inequalities in the EU, and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, quality, and interoperability standards.
