High-performance computing
EBRAINS provides access to high-performance computing (HPC) and storage services at leading European supercomputing and data centres.
We are collaborating with major European HPC centres, some of which are Fenix consortium members, to meet the computational demands of the EBRAINS users in the area of high-performance computing.
Harnessing HPC resources offers unparalleled advantages for scientists and researchers in the field of neuroscience. Here are some key areas where HPC can be transformative using our EBRAINS software:
Analysis of Brain Data: Leverage HPC to process and analyse vast amounts of brain data, leading to deeper insights into brain function and the underlying mechanisms of neural processes.
Building Multi-Scale Scaffold Theory and Models: Use HPC to develop comprehensive multi-scale models of the brain, integrating data from molecular to system levels. These models can help understand complex brain structures and functions.
Simulation of Brain Function: Run large-scale simulations of brain activity, enabling the study of dynamic neural processes and the testing of hypotheses in silico, which can complement experimental research.
Brain-inspired computing, Data Analytics, and Robotics: Apply HPC to innovate in brain-inspired computing and advanced data analytics, paving the way for breakthroughs in AI, machine learning, and robotics based on neural principles.
Researchers can run the EBRAINS software at our partner HPC sites, ensuring they have the computational power necessary to drive forward their groundbreaking work.
