EBRAINS is part of the consortium selected for European Health Data Space pilot project

European Health Data Space

EBRAINS is pleased to announce that it has been chosen to be part of a consortium which will build the first version of the future European Health Data Space (EHDS).

The pilot project – which is led by the French Health Data Hub – has been set up to practically validate the proposal for the EHDS that the European Commission published on 3 May 2022.

The EHDS will seek to address the challenges associated with health data sharing in the EU – such as lack of interoperability and unclear legal systems – by establishing a health data sharing framework that will benefit patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, policy makers, and industry.

“We are delighted to be part of the EHDS pilot project. At EBRAINS we are committed to the sharing and reuse of scientific data through our Data and Knowledge services. The creation of the EHDS will be a game-changer in accessibility to health data with enormous value-added to research. We look forward to contributing to this effort alongside our consortium partners.”
