The 2025 EBRAINS Fall School in Computational Neuroscience is a 10-day course designed for Master’s and PhD students and postdocs interested in advancing their knowledge in theoretical and computational neuroscience. This year’s school will take place in the beautiful city of Marseille, France. It will focus on topics ranging from cellular models to whole-brain simulations, including the use of cutting-edge simulation environments for model building.
Course Overview:
Cellular Models & Brain Signals
Circuit Models and Networks
Mean-Field Models
Whole-Brain Models
The course will consist of a combination of lectures, tutorials, and group projects. Each day will be dedicated to a different thematic area, with morning sessions for lectures and tutorials, and afternoon group projects. Evenings will be free for networking and exploring Marseille.
Organizers:

IBRO Scholarships: Fellowship Application Information

We are pleased to offer five IBRO-funded fellowships to support students with financial need in attending the EITN-EBRAINS School in Computational Neuroscience. These fellowships aim to enhance diversity and accessibility by covering travel and living expenses for selected participants.
What the Fellowship Covers
Each fellowship provides financial support for:
Travel: Up to 1,000 € for a return flight
Accommodation: Up to 10 nights at 100 € per night, including breakfast
Daily allowance: 20 € per day for 10 days (lunch is provided as part of the school programme)
Eligibility criteria
Fellowship applicants must reside in a country classified as low-income to upper-middle income according to the World Bank Classification, with priority given to low-income countries. Following IBRO terms and conditions, applications from North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, and Russia cannot be considered.
Eligibility will be determined based on the applicant’s country of residence rather than their country of birth, as this more accurately reflects their current access to education and financial resources.
Application process
In addition to their general application documents, we ask applicants to submit a Financial Needs Statement (max. 1 page) explaining their current funding situation, financial barriers preventing their participation, any other sources of support they have applied for, and why this fellowship is essential for their attendance.
Fellowship Selection criteria
Eligible applications will be evaluated based on their financial need statement, country priority, and the general selection criteria for the School (academic merit and impact on career). Following diversity considerations, fellowships will be awarded with priority given to underrepresented genders and underrepresented regions.
A detailed Application Guideline for Fellowships will be made available soon.
The deadline for fellowship applications is June 4, anywhere on earth.
