GreenDIGIT: Towards More Sustainable Digital Research Infrastructures
Our EBRAINS team was in Lecce, Italy, together with the consortium partners for a two-day all-hands meeting on 30 September - 1 October 2024 as part of the GreenDIGIT project we are collaborating on. We discussed the importance of prioritising lowering the environmental impact of digital services and technologies, and introducing more sustainable structures within research infrastructures throughout Europe and beyond.
The project was initiated by 4 Digital Infrastructures - EGI, SoBigData, SLICES and EBRAINS - to address the vital needs of the ESFRI Research Infrastructures. It aims to make digital research infrastructures more environmentally friendly.
EBRAINS is helping to address the challenge of reducing environmental impact by aiming to provide solutions that can be widely used across all types of digital services of the ESFRI landscape. We are also communicating and disseminating the project’s achievements.
