High-Performance Computing

EBRAINS connects neuroscientists with powerful European high‑performance computing (HPC) resources designed to support data‑intensive and computationally demanding research.

What Can I Do With HPC Resources?

Move from data to discovery, faster and more efficiently, by using supercomputing resources together with EBRAINS tools and software.

Process Brain Datasets and Atlases

Use scalable computing to analyse multimodal neuroimaging, electrophysiology, or behavioural data. Capturing patterns and dynamics beyond standard computation.

Develop Detailed Brain Models

Build multi-scale scaffold models that reflect the brain’s structure from molecules up to large-scale networks. HPC lets you test and iterate your models rapidly.

Run Large‑Scale Simulations

Execute simulations of neural activity or entire brain regions, enabling you to experiment in silico and refine your hypotheses.

Train & Deploy AI Models

Apply HPC to innovate in brain-inspired computing and advanced data analytics, paving the way for breakthroughs in AI, machine learning, and robotics based on neural principles.

Access HPC Resources

Access HPC Resources at EBRAINS 2.0 Partner Sites

Get started with HPC through EBRAINS partner systems. Develop, test, and benchmark your applications while benefiting from seamless integration with the EBRAINS ecosystem, including data, tools and digital research services.

Get support with your EuroHPC JU proposal

Ready to scale your research to Europe’s most powerful supercomputers? We support researchers in the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) application process, helping you prepare competitive proposals for access to state-of-the-art European HPC resources.

Eligibility and Contact

The EBRAINS HPC resources and EuroHPC JU application support service are available to Europe-based neuroscientists, researchers, and developers planning to use or deploy EBRAINS tools and services.

Whether you are a PhD student, early‑career researcher or principal investigator, access is straightforward and free of charge.
