EBRAINS is one of Europe's research infrastructures for brain science, giving researchers a shared set of digital tools and services. Today it runs through eleven National Nodes and a central office, funded by member contributions and EU projects.
IMPLEMENT is the project preparing EBRAINS for its next chapter. Over 18 months, we are putting in place the legal form, governance and financial plan that will let EBRAINS become a lasting, self-sustaining infrastructure, set up as a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC).
In short, we are laying the groundwork so EBRAINS can move from project-by-project funding to a stable "hub and node" infrastructure that supports neuroscience, healthcare and digital innovation across Europe for years to come.
What we are working on:
- a legal, governance and financial framework for the EBRAINS EDIC;
- an operational framework that brings the National Nodes and new technologies together;
- an onboarding and engagement plan to grow the network of Nodes and users;
- a clear way to put EBRAINS's tools to work in the wider world.
