EBRAINS is pleased to announce the establishment of the EBRAINS Lithuania National Node.

The EBRAINS Lithuania National Node is composed of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University, and the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kauno klinikos. LSMU will act as the Node coordinator.

The Node will help to strengthen joint research between Lithuanian and EBRAINS organisations and researchers in the fields of brain health, brain-related technologies, and artificial intelligence.

Prof Eugenijus Valatka, Rector of Kaunas University of Technology, Prof Ausra Saudargiene, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Prof Vaiva Lesauskaite, Vice-Rector for Science, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Prof Juozas Augutis, Rector of Vytautas Magnus University, Prof Rimantas Benetis, Rector of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Ausrine Amsiejute, Head of Legal Department, LSMU Hospital Kauno klinikos, and Prof Renaldas Jurkevicius, Head of the LSMU Hospital Kauno klinikos were present at the signing of the joint activity agreement for EBRAINS Lithuania.

EBRAINS has enjoyed close collaborations with researchers in Lithuania over the past few years. LSMU scientists have been engaged in successful collaboration with EBRAINS partners since 2021, contributing to research publications and the organization of joint scientific conferences. Extensive scientific research activities are being developed with Prof. Viktor Jirsa, EBRAINS Chief Science Officer, in the field of personalized digital brain models and their application for the diagnosis of neurological diseases and the prediction of treatment outcomes.
