EBRAINS Support for EuroHPC Applications, established in March 2026, offers a dedicated consultancy service to assist users from the neuroscience community, particularly those within the EBRAINS community, in preparing competitive project proposals for the calls of the European High‑Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU).
The primary objective of this service is to facilitate access for the EBRAINS community to EuroHPC computational resources for brain research.
The support provided includes a pre-assessment of the applicant’s code maturity and the identification of suitable EuroHPC calls and systems that align with the applicant’s research needs. Follow-up steps may involve recommending benchmark configurations, estimating core-hour requirements, and suggesting weak or strong scaling tests. During the proposal drafting stage, the team assists the applicant in completing the EuroHPC application form, integrating scientific impact statements, resource justification, and benchmark results. An internal review of the draft is conducted, incorporating feedback from internal experts where applicable. After submission, the team tracks application outcomes and captures lessons learned to continuously enhance the support service.
