EBRAINS endorses new EU Charter to boost industry access to research infrastructures

EBRAINS has endorsed the Charter of Access for Industrial Users to Research and Technology Infrastructures, adopted by the European Commission to speed up and simplify companies' access to Europe's world-class research and technology infrastructures. 

The Charter sets out six voluntary principles for infrastructures to help companies—from startups and SMEs to established industry players—more easily access cutting-edge services such as advanced laboratories, large scientific instruments and pilot lines. The goal is to help companies test and validate their products in state-of-the-art environments, bringing innovations to market more quickly and strengthening Europe's competitiveness, in line with the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy. 

The Charter's six key principles: 

• Increased visibility and availability of services 
• Transparency and quality of services 
• Simplified contract and agreement procedures 
• Safe intellectual property management 
• Tailored support to companies 
• Cooperation between infrastructures and access to data 

By endorsing the Charter, EBRAINS reaffirms its commitment to providing industrial users with clear, transparent and streamlined access to its brain-related research infrastructure, tools and data—helping companies accelerate the development of new products and services in neuroscience and brain-inspired technologies. 

EBRAINS joins a growing number of leading European research and innovation organisations that have already committed to the Charter's principles.
