For nearly 400 years, the University – ranked among the top 1% worldwide – has united people and disciplines to create life-changing breakthroughs: from pioneering research innovations to empowering new generations as daily agents of global change. Across four campuses and 11 faculties, the university harnesses top-level scholarship to explore the individual, humanity, nature and the universe.

“EBRAINS membership gives us access to extensive multiscale databases, advanced in silico simulation environments, and state‑of‑the‑art computational tools for brain research. Just as important, it connects us to a vibrant European community committed to strengthening the entire brain research ecosystem", says Satu Palva, Director of the Neuroscience Center. "Neuroscience at the University of Helsinki spans everything from human brain imaging to cellular and genetic studies, and EBRAINS is uniquely positioned to support this full spectrum. Its overarching mission to accelerate the development of more effective treatments, new drugs, diagnostics, and preventive strategies for neurological disorders aligns closely with our university’s strategy and with Finland’s national goals for advancing precision medicine.”

"We are delighted to welcome the University of Helsinki as a full member at EBRAINS", says Prof. Katrin Amunts, Joint-CEO of EBRAINS. "With their substantial expertise in multiple branches of neuroscience, including time domain analysis and neurophysiology, I am confident they will make a strong contribution to the EBRAINS Research Infrastructure, and enrich its landscapes by providing unique research tools and data."
