EBRAINS was present at the European Innovation Council (EIC) Summit 2025 held on April 2– 3 in Brussels. The event brought together innovators, policymakers, and investors for two days of workshops, pitching sessions, and networking opportunities.
A highlight of EBRAINS’ participation was the Human Brain Project (HBP)-EBRAINS image exhibition which showcased a collection of scientific images of research produced during the HBP and powered by EBRAINS. Visitors had the opportunity to explore these striking visuals and engage with our team to learn more about the tools and resources the EBRAINS research infrastructure provides to the scientific community.

EBRAINS Chief Infrastructure Officer, Prof. Jan Bjaalie, contributed to a panel debate at the workshop titled “Accessing Specialist Research and Technology Infrastructures”. This interactive session provided insights and strategies for innovators to access world-class research and technology infrastructures across Europe, including high-performance computing centres and advanced materials labs, to enhance their research roadmaps. The discussion focused on how research infrastructures interact with industry, ways to streamline access, foster collaborations, enhance support, and strategies to leverage resources for maximum impact.

The EIC Summit 2025 served as a platform for fostering collaboration and showcasing innovations, aligning with EBRAINS’ mission to advance research and technological development. Another highlight of the summit was the announcement of the winners and runners-up of the 11th edition of the European Prize for Women Innovators, jointly managed by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This award celebrates women entrepreneurs driving innovation across Europe.
