OHBM 2024 took place at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul and welcomed over 3,000 onsite attendees from more than 40 countries.

EBRAINS was present at booth 204 to share the latest developments around the digital research infrastructure and to engage with members of the brain mapping community.

Booth visitors were keen to learn more about the Open Science Tools and Services available on EBRAINS. Many had a special interest in the brain atlases available on our digital research infrastructure. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about the EBRAINS-coordinated Virtual Brain Twin project, which aims to optimise treatment for psychiatric conditions through an innovative multiscale brain modelling approach.

On Sunday, 23 June, EBRAINS Chief Science Officer Prof. Viktor Jirsa presented 'Introduction to dynamical systems.’ He provided a concise overview of dynamic systems in neuroscience, emphasising their significance and practical applications.

Later in the event, on Tuesday, 25 June, Prof. Jirsa presented ‘Avatar of Your Mind - Digital Brain Twins’. He discussed the potential applications of digital brain twins, including improved diagnostics, discovery of novel biomarkers, and development of new neurotechnologies. He also outlined the role of the EBRAINS Research Infrastructure in the Virtual Brain Twin project.

On Wednesday, 26 June, EBRAINS researcher Prof. Dr. Nicola Palomero-Gallagher presented the keynote 'Neurotransmitter Receptors Link Structural and Functional Segregation Patterns in the Brain'.

Prof. Dr. Nicola Palomero-Gallagher presented 'Neurotransmitter Receptors Link Structural and Functional Segregation Patterns in the Brain'.

Her presentation looked at the interaction between neurotransmitters and their receptors, and the pivotal role this interaction plays in mediating signal transduction within the nervous system.

Several EBRAINS researchers presented scientific posters during the event. The posters covered topics such as brain mapping and virtual patients.
