EBRAINS Webinar Series - Using HPC infrastructure to enable and boost brain research and brain-inspired technologies
The next edition of the EBRAINS Webinar Series will give an overview of the role of High Performance Computing in Neuroscience Research. It will take place on Friday 7 November from 10:00-11:00 CET.
In the last years, brain research has turned into a highly multidisciplinary and data-intensive field. The increasing size and complexity of the relevant datasets and computational workloads as well as the integration of AI methods into day to day scientific practice, have made high performance computing (HPC) essential to address scientific questions beyond the state of the art. HPC systems are also becoming a common virtual space for scientists to exchange, collaborate and combine their methods and perspectives efficiently. In this webinar, we will present a set of use cases that leverage High Performance Computing (HPC) to solve problems in brain research and brain-inspired technology development. With this webinar, we want to showcase the potential benefits of using HPC infrastructure to enable, accelerate and make more robust and reproducible science. The online event will conclude with a Q&A session.
The webinar will feature the following presenters:
David Kappel: University of Bielefeld
Felix Wolf, Marvin Kaster and Fabian Czappa: University of Darmstadt
Christian Schiffer: Forschungszentrum Jülich
Sandra Diaz: Forschungszentrum Jülich
