25 June - Day 2

Session 1: Joint Career-workshop with industry representatives

In this joint career workshop, you will engage with industry representatives to gain insights into the skills and competencies needed for careers beyond academia. Through a combination of short presentations and small-group discussions, industry speakers will introduce their organisations, highlight current demands, and reflect on what they look for in future talent.

You will have the opportunity to compare these perspectives with your own career interests and expectations, ask questions, and discuss different career pathways. The session is designed to create an open exchange between students and industry, helping you better understand how to prepare for professional roles and what skills are most valued in practice.

Session 2: Tool developers working session

In this session, aimed at tool developers and university-level educators we review the educational readiness checklist for EBRAINS Tools. This checklist provides tool experts with a framework to explore how EBRAINS tools can be effectively integrated into classroom settings.

The session will consist of small group discussions on the educational readiness of EBRAINS tools and the review of the checklist. The session will conclude with an open discussion on general feedback on the educational readiness checklist and on the opportunities, challenges, and requirements for adopting open science tools in neuroscience education.

Session 3: Reviewing Neuroscience Educational Readiness Checklist (NERC)

Session 4: Data Curation for Students

Session 5: Working group session on developing train-the-trainer concepts

In this session, you will work in small, mixed groups of tool trainers and tool developers to collaboratively develop initial train-the-trainer concepts. Building on your combined experience in teaching and training, you will explore how specific tools or approaches can be effectively passed on to others.

Through guided discussions, you will define target groups, learning objectives, and suitable training formats (including remote options). The focus will be on creating practical, adaptable concepts that not only teach how to use a tool, but also how to teach it to others.
You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, give and receive feedback, and refine your concept together. By the end of the session, each group will have a first draft of a train-the-trainer approach, along with key insights on what makes it effective and transferable.

Afternoon: Industrial matchmaking

This event will connect EBRAINS researchers and developers to industrial companies and hospitals. A wide selection of EBRAINS services will be presented and analyzed, to explore together their application in the end-users´ markets. In addition to facilitating the practical utilization of the tools, this event will create opportunities of commercialization, innovation, partnership, joint projects, and exploitation agreements.

  • Industrial application of EBRAINS tools
  • Companies´presentations - Q&As
  • World-café: Matchmaking EBRAINS tools with industrial needs
