The EITN EBRAINS Fall School in Computational Neuroscience is scheduled to be held in Pavia, Italy, from September 21th to 30th, 2026.
The 2025 EBRAINS Fall School in Computational Neuroscience is a 10-day course designed for Master’s and PhD students and postdocs interested in advancing their knowledge in theoretical and computational neuroscience.
This year’s school will take place in the beautiful city of Pavia, Italy.
It will focus on multiscale brain modelling, from molecular-cellular models to whole-brain models, including the use of cutting-edge simulation environments for model building.

The course will consist of a combination of lectures, tutorials, and group projects. Each day will be dedicated to a different thematic area, with morning sessions for lectures and tutorials, and afternoon group projects.
Evenings and the weekend will be free for networking and exploring the city.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection criteria:
Applicants must be currently working or studying in neuroscience or a related field.
Experience in Python programming is helpful but not mandatory. Priority will be given to PhD students, though Master’s students and post-docs are also encouraged to apply.
The selection of 28 students will be based on the potential impact the school will have on their current and future projects.
Financial Information:
- Registration Fees policy will be communicated together with the opening of the applications
- The school provides coffee breaks and lunch, however, dinner, accommodation, travel, and other expenses are not included.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own visa and covering the associated costs. The organisers recommend checking the official embassy or consulate websites for Italy in the participant’s country of residence for
the most up-to-date visa requirements. It is recommended that students start the visa application process as soon as they are accepted as the process of obtaining the visa can take time.
