Francesco Pavone wins Enrico Fermi Prize
Professor Francesco Pavone, leader of Work Package 7 in the EBRAINS 2.0 project, has been awarded the Enrico Fermi Prize from the Italian Physical Society.
The prize is awarded annually to members of the Italian Physical Society who have distinguished themselves through their research and discoveries in physics. Prof. Pavone received the award for his leading role in the development of single-molecule manipulation and spectroscopic imaging methods to study molecular processes in cells, tissues, and the brain. The award ceremony will take place during the opening of the upcoming Annual National Congress of the Italian Physical Society in Bologna on the 9th of September.
Prof. Pavone is the leader of Work Package 7, ‘Community involvement, Education, Innovation and Interoperability’, in the EBRAINS 2.0 project. The Work Package coordinates activities for training, education, technology transfer, and facility hub operation across EBRAINS. In the Human Brain Project, Prof. Pavone was part of a team that mapped the human hippocampus.
