IBI Chair Dr. Judy Illes had a discussion recently with Prof. Katrin Amunts, Joint CEO of EBRAINS and Prof. Jan G. Bjaalie, EBRAINS Management Board, Infrastructure on the crucial role international partnerships play in neuroscience.
The EBRAINS representatives shared insights on their productive cooperation with the International Brain Initiative (IBI), highlighting successful working groups. They noted the impact of the working group on research data, particularly in areas such as international data governance and standards. Both also highlighted the importance of IBI in facilitating education and training, addressing the need for data sharing and transparency. As a worldwide forum with a global scope, IBI connects large infrastructures, enhances awareness and access to digital tools, and ensures that researchers globally have access to data and resources. In particular, the Neuroethics Working Group stands out as a significant success story with its global outreach and synergies fostered by IBI.
