EBRAINS Data and Knowledge services facilitate neuroscience research and discovery by providing online solutions to facilitate sharing of and access to research data, computational models and software. These services revolve around an expert-driven Knowledge Graph which combines metadata ingestion pipelines, human user input and multiple quality assurance processes, to help contributors and users by ensuring data consistency and quality. Neuroscientists looking to share their data and models FAIRly (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable) can apply for user support to have their data and models curated and annotated with standardised metadata, to facilitate discovery and reuse by other researchers.

The EBRAINS Data and Knowledge services make it easier for scientists to share, find, integrate, analyse and simulate data.

Clearly defined terms of use, responsible data compliance, data protection provisions and governance mechanisms make this platform attractive for researchers depositing and consuming content. Neuroscientists seeking data or models to support their research can find and access data and models, either through a straightforward online search or a programmatic API. Moreover, these shared resources are linked to software for visualising and analysing data and for performing computerised simulations of brain function, and to the INCF KnowledgeSpace for integration with other international services. By making it easier for scientists to share, find, integrate, analyse and simulate data, EBRAINS Data and Knowledge services help to accelerate the global effort to understand human brain function and disease.
