EBRAINS has extended the submission deadline for proposals to its 10-Year Roadmap 2026-2036 to 15 March 2026 (23:59 CET), following multiple requests from the research community.
Update 16/03/2026: The submission process is now closed. More information will be available soon.
This extension represents the final opportunity for stakeholders to contribute ideas that will help shape the future direction of Europe’s digital neuroscience infrastructure.
The EBRAINS Roadmap, announced in November 2025, is a community-driven process that will define the scientific, clinical and technological priorities guiding the evolution of EBRAINS over the next decade. Contributions submitted through this call will be analysed and will directly inform discussions at the EBRAINS Roadmap Symposium, taking place in Munich on 21-22 May 2026.
“The Roadmap is a shared vision and implementation plan for the next decade of neuroscience in Europe,” said Viktor Jirsa, Chief Scientific Officer of EBRAINS. “We welcome contributions from individuals, collaborations, networks and institutions. Contributions should advance research with regard to scientific advancements, technological or clinical applications, and make full use of the tools that we have in the EBRAINS ecosystem”.

The EBRAINS Roadmap was presented during an open session at the EBRAINS Summit in December, hosted by Prof. Jirsa.
In addition to research-driven proposals, contributors are encouraged to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement within the EBRAINS infrastructure itself, helping to inform prioritisation and technical development over the coming ten years.
Contributing to the EBRAINS 10-Year Roadmap 2026–2036 means taking part in defining the next decade of neuroscience - not as an observer, but as an architect.
